We are hiring a Material Handler for our bustling logistics facility in Nashville, Tennessee. In this role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of materials throughout the warehouse. This includes operating forklifts and other heavy equipment, loading and unloading trucks, and assisting with inventory management. - Operate forklifts, reach trucks, and other powered industrial trucks to move materials.
- Load and unload shipments from trucks and trailers.
- Transport materials to and from designated storage areas.
- Assist with put-away and retrieval of inventory.
- Conduct pre-operation inspections of equipment to ensure safety and functionality.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all safety protocols.
- Identify and report any damaged materials or equipment malfunctions.
- Participate in inventory counts and cycle counts.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies and safety regulations, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid forklift operator certification and proven experience operating various types of forklifts.
- Previous experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role.
- Ability to perform heavy Lifting (up to 60 lbs).
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations and logistics.
- Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to all safety guidelines.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting load tags and shipping documents.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including overtime as needed.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) is a plus.
