Job Summary:
Our growing logistics facility in Columbus, Ohio, is seeking an experienced Inventory Control Specialist. This position is vital for maintaining the accuracy, integrity, and efficient management of our warehouse inventory. You will be tasked with monitoring stock levels, conducting thorough cycle counts, investigating and resolving discrepancies, and implementing strategies to optimize inventory accuracy and minimize waste. Your role directly impacts our supply chain's efficiency and our ability to meet customer demands. Responsibilities:
  • Perform regular cycle counts and full physical inventory audits to ensure data accuracy.
  • Investigate root causes of inventory discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
  • Monitor inventory levels and forecast future needs, generating reorder recommendations.
  • Develop and enforce inventory control policies and procedures to prevent loss and damage.
  • Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) to track inventory movement and status.
  • Optimize warehouse layout for efficient storage and retrieval of goods.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of all inventory adjustments and transactions.
  • Uphold all warehouse safety standards and procedures, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Collaborate with receiving and shipping teams to ensure seamless inventory flow within the logistics chain.
  • Occasionally assist with material handling tasks, which may involve some lifting.

Qualifications:
Proven experience in inventory control or warehouse management, preferably in a logistics context. Proficiency with WMS software and other inventory management tools. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. High level of accuracy and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively. High school diploma required; associate's or bachelor's degree is a plus. Understanding of supply chain and logistics principles. Commitment to maintaining a safe and efficient work environment. This role requires a proactive approach to inventory management and a dedication to accuracy.
