We are hiring a skilled Forklift Operator for our busy distribution center in San Francisco, California. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently moving materials throughout our facility, ensuring smooth operations and timely order fulfillment. This role is vital to our logistics chain, requiring precision, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to safety. Responsibilities:
- Operate various types of forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, reach trucks) to move, stack, and retrieve inventory.
- Load and unload trucks, trailers, and containers with accuracy and care.
- Transport materials to and from designated areas within the warehouse.
- Perform daily inspections of forklifts and report any maintenance issues promptly.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations, including the proper use of PPE and safe operating procedures.
- Maintain an organized and clean work area, ensuring clear pathways for operations.
- Assist with inventory management tasks, including cycle counts and stock placement.
- Collaborate with warehouse associates and supervisors to ensure efficient workflow.
- Follow all company policies and procedures related to warehouse operations and logistics.
- Safely handle products, minimizing damage and ensuring order integrity.
Qualifications:
- Valid forklift operator certification and/or demonstrated experience.
- Proven experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or distribution environment.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures and regulations.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
- Dependable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Must be able to wear required PPE, such as safety shoes and vests.
- Familiarity with logistics and inventory control systems is a plus.
