Join our busy logistics center in St. Louis, Missouri, as a Material Handler! We are seeking robust individuals to manage the movement of materials throughout our warehouse. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for operating forklifts and other material handling equipment to load and unload trucks, move inventory, and support various warehouse operations. Safety is paramount in our facility, and all Material Handlers must demonstrate a strong commitment to safe operating practices, including thorough pre-operation equipment checks and the consistent use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). You will be expected to move, stack, and organize materials efficiently, ensuring that inventory is accessible and secure. This position requires the ability to perform significant lifting, often exceeding 50 lbs, and requires stamina for prolonged periods of standing and physical work. Experience operating stand-up and sit-down forklifts is essential, and certification is a strong plus. A good understanding of warehouse layouts and inventory flow within a logistics environment is highly desirable. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts (sit-down, stand-up) safely and efficiently to move materials.
- Load and unload trucks and trailers.
- Transport materials to and from storage areas, production lines, or shipping docks.
- Stack and organize materials in designated locations.
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance checks on equipment.
- Assist with inventory control and cycle counts.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations and company policies, including the use of PPE.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a Material Handler or Forklift Operator.
- Valid forklift certification is a plus.
- Ability to lift and move heavy items (50+ lbs) regularly.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and use of PPE.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Flexibility to work different shifts as required.
