We are seeking a skilled and certified Forklift Operator to join our Baltimore, Maryland warehouse team. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently moving, locating, relocating, stacking, and counting merchandise. Your role is crucial to the smooth operation of our logistics and warehousing activities, ensuring that materials are handled properly and stored correctly. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of safe operation, excellent attention to detail, and a strong understanding of warehouse safety protocols. You will work closely with other warehouse staff to manage inventory flow and support order fulfillment. This position demands a high level of responsibility and adherence to safety standards, including the consistent use of required PPE. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts safely and efficiently to move, stack, and retrieve materials.
- Load and unload trucks and containers in a timely manner.
- Transport goods from receiving to storage areas and vice versa.
- Inspect forklift equipment daily and report any maintenance issues.
- Maintain accurate records of material movement and inventory levels.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations, including operating procedures and the use of PPE.
- Assist with inventory counts and cycle counts as required.
- Collaborate with warehouse associates to ensure efficient workflow.
- Follow proper procedures for handling and storing various types of goods.
- Contribute to a safe and productive warehouse environment.
Qualifications:
- Valid forklift operator certification (e.g., OSHA-approved).
- Proven experience operating forklifts in a warehouse setting.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Knowledge of warehouse operations and logistics principles.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Strong understanding of safety procedures and the importance of PPE.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in managing inventory.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
