We are seeking a meticulous Receiving Clerk to join our logistics team in Columbus, Ohio. This role is critical in ensuring that all incoming shipments are accurately documented, inspected, and processed efficiently. You will be the first point of contact for incoming goods, setting the tone for our warehouse operations. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and possesses excellent communication skills. Your primary responsibility will be to maintain the integrity of our inventory from the moment it arrives. We value Safety and efficiency above all else, and this role directly contributes to both. Key responsibilities include:
- Receiving, unpacking, and inspecting all incoming shipments for damage or discrepancies.
- Verifying delivery contents against purchase orders and shipping manifests.
- Accurately documenting all received goods into the inventory management system.
- Reporting any discrepancies, damages, or shortages to management immediately.
- Organizing and preparing received goods for storage or distribution.
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly receiving area.
- Adhering to all Safety regulations and company policies, including the correct use of PPE.
- Assisting with other warehouse duties as needed, potentially including some Lifting.
Requirements:
Previous experience in receiving, shipping, or inventory management is preferred. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Basic computer proficiency, especially with inventory software. Must be able to handle physical tasks, including occasional Lifting of up to 50 pounds. A commitment to Safety and a proactive approach to problem-solving. This role is fundamental to our logistics success.
