Join our team as an Order Picker in Huntsville, Alabama, and be a crucial part of our efficient order fulfillment process. As an Order Picker, you will be responsible for accurately and efficiently picking, packing, and preparing customer orders for shipment. This role requires a keen eye for detail, speed, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of accuracy and productivity in a fast-paced warehouse environment. You will work closely with inventory management systems and warehouse associates to ensure timely order processing.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately pick items from warehouse shelves based on order sheets or scanner data.
- Pack orders securely and efficiently, ensuring items are protected during transit.
- Operate pallet jacks, forklifts (if certified), and other warehouse equipment to move merchandise.
- Conduct quality checks on picked items and finished orders to ensure accuracy.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all warehouse safety regulations.
- Replenish inventory as needed, following established procedures.
- Utilize handheld scanners and warehouse management systems (WMS) to track inventory and order progress.
- Collaborate with team members to meet daily picking and packing targets.
- Adhere to all company policies regarding safety and operational procedures.
- Ensure the proper use of PPE , such as safety vests and gloves, during all tasks.
- Understand and manage the physical demands of the job, including frequent lifting and bending.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in a warehouse, distribution, or order fulfillment environment is a plus.
- Familiarity with warehouse operations and inventory management.
- Ability to read and understand order sheets and product labels.
- Proficiency in using handheld scanners and basic computer skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods.
- Willingness to wear required PPE .
- Experience with various lifting techniques and safe material handling.
- Understanding of basic logistics principles within a warehouse setting.
