Our Huntsville, Alabama facility is seeking a certified and experienced Forklift Operator to join our vital warehouse team. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of materials throughout our facility, playing a key role in our logistics operations. Your duties will include loading and unloading trucks, transporting goods to and from storage areas, and assisting with inventory management. This role demands precision, a strong understanding of forklift operation, and an unwavering commitment to safety.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklifts and other powered industrial trucks to move, stack, load, and unload materials.
- Inspect forklift equipment daily and perform basic maintenance, reporting any issues immediately.
- Transport materials to and from production, receiving, and shipping areas.
- Accurately pick and stage orders for shipment, ensuring correct items and quantities.
- Load and unload trucks efficiently and safely, maximizing space utilization.
- Assist with inventory control, including cycle counts and stock put-away.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to all safety and housekeeping standards.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Collaborate with warehouse staff to ensure efficient workflow and meet production targets.
- Contribute to the overall success of our logistics operations through reliable forklift operation.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid forklift operator certification required.
- Proven experience operating various types of forklifts in a warehouse setting.
- Ability to perform tasks requiring significant physical activity, including occasional Lifting of materials.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures and traffic management.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems.
- Commitment to workplace safety and the correct use of PPE.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Knowledge of safe loading/unloading practices is essential for logistics.
