Our Boise, Idaho facility is looking for a detail-oriented Inventory Control Specialist to join our logistics team. This critical role ensures the accuracy and integrity of our warehouse inventory, which is fundamental to efficient operations and customer satisfaction. You will be responsible for conducting regular cycle counts, investigating inventory discrepancies, and implementing measures to prevent future errors. This position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a strong understanding of warehouse processes. You will work closely with the receiving, put-away, and order fulfillment teams to maintain precise stock levels. Key duties include analyzing inventory data, identifying trends, and recommending improvements to inventory management procedures. The ideal candidate possesses excellent analytical skills, a meticulous nature, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. A solid understanding of warehouse safety practices, including the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), is essential. This role may involve moderate lifting and the ability to operate equipment safely. Knowledge of inventory management software and best practices within the logistics industry is highly valued. Responsibilities:
- Perform regular cycle counts and physical inventories.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies promptly.
- Analyze inventory data to identify trends and potential issues.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve inventory accuracy.
- Ensure proper stock rotation and identify obsolete or slow-moving inventory.
- Work with other departments to coordinate inventory adjustments.
- Maintain accurate inventory records in the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the use of PPE.
- Assist with training other staff on inventory control procedures.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the warehouse.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
- Proven experience in inventory control or warehouse management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in WMS and inventory management software.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Familiarity with logistics operations and supply chain principles.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and proper use of PPE.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including occasional lifting.
