We are searching for a detail-oriented Inventory Control Specialist to join our logistics team in Nashville, Tennessee. In this critical role, you will be responsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our inventory. Your duties will include performing cycle counts, investigating discrepancies, managing stock levels, and implementing inventory control procedures. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a keen eye for detail, and a thorough understanding of warehouse management systems (WMS). This position is vital for optimizing our supply chain and ensuring operational efficiency.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventories to ensure accuracy of stock records.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
- Manage and maintain accurate inventory levels within the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Implement and enforce inventory control policies and procedures to minimize shrinkage and obsolescence.
- Monitor stock rotation (e.g., FIFO/LIFO) and ensure proper product handling.
- Analyze inventory data to identify trends and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Coordinate with warehouse staff and management to ensure efficient put-away and picking processes.
- Ensure proper documentation for all inventory movements and adjustments.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to inventory management and logistics.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in inventory control, preferably within a warehouse or logistics environment.
- Proficiency with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and inventory software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to perform physical tasks as needed, including moderate Lifting up to 30 pounds.
- Understanding of inventory accounting principles and best practices.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety standards and the importance of PPE.
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field is a plus.
