Join our team as a Material Handler in Virginia Beach, Virginia, and play a key role in the efficient movement of goods within our distribution center. This position is essential for maintaining the flow of products through our logistics operations. You will be responsible for operating various types of material handling equipment to load, unload, transport, and store materials. A strong commitment to Safety and adherence to proper procedures are critical. We are looking for individuals who are reliable, safety-conscious, and capable of performing physical tasks.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload trucks and containers.
- Transport materials to and from various locations within the warehouse.
- Stack and arrange materials in designated storage areas.
- Assist with inventory management and cycle counts.
- Ensure proper handling and care of all materials to prevent damage.
- Maintain equipment and report any operational issues.
- Adhere to all company Safety policies and procedures, including proper use of PPE.
- Contribute to the overall efficiency and productivity of the Logistics department.
- Perform housekeeping duties to keep the work area clean and organized.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role.
- Valid forklift certification is a plus.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including manual Lifting of up to 60 lbs.
- Proficiency in operating various material handling equipment.
- Strong understanding of warehouse Safety regulations and best practices.
- Willingness to wear required PPE at all times.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Reliability and punctuality.
- Familiarity with Logistics operations is advantageous.
