We are seeking a certified Forklift Operator for our busy Chicago, Illinois warehouse. Key Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts and other powered industrial trucks to move pallets, materials, and goods.
- Load and unload trucks and trailers in a safe and timely manner.
- Transport materials to and from designated storage areas.
- Stack and arrange items in a secure and organized fashion.
- Perform daily inspections of forklift equipment and report any maintenance issues.
- Assist with inventory counts and warehouse organization.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations, company policies, and the correct use of PPE.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work environment.
- Manage tasks involving lifting and moving items, potentially up to 50 pounds (when not using forklift).
- Support the overall logistics and supply chain functions of the warehouse.
Qualifications:
Valid forklift operator certification is mandatory. Previous experience as a forklift operator in a warehouse setting is required. High school diploma or equivalent. Ability to perform physical tasks, including prolonged standing, walking, and occasional lifting. Strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures and the importance of PPE. Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness. Must be able to work efficiently and safely in a fast-paced environment. Good communication and teamwork skills are essential. Proven ability to follow instructions and maintain accuracy in logistics operations.
