Position Summary:
Reporting to the Vice President, Operations the Compliance Documentation Specialist is responsible for creating (with guidance & direction of management), reviewing, and updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and related documentation to ensure compliance with food safety, regulatory, quality, and occupational health & safety requirements. This role works closely with cross-functional teams to support safe, compliant, and consistent operations.
This role is offered on a 12-month contract basis.
Key Accountabilities:
- Develop and update SOPs, work instructions, and procedures in alignment with food safety (HACCP), regulatory, quality, and health & safety standards.
- Ensure documentation complies with applicable regulatory requirements (e.g., CFIA, provincial OH&S legislation, customer and audit standards).
- Collaborate with Production, Quality Assurance, Health & Safety, HR and Sanitation teams to capture accurate processes and controls.
- Standardize documentation formats, ensure clear language, and maintain document control and version accuracy.
- Support internal and external (COR) audits by ensuring procedures are current, accessible, and audit ready.
- Identify gaps in existing procedures related to food safety and worker safety and recommend updates as required.
Requirements:
- Graduated from an Engineering college or university program
- Proficient in MS Word and MS Excel.
- Completed or currently enrolled in an HACCP course would be preferred
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong eye for detail.
- Ability to manage multiple documents and meet project timelines.
Hiring Range: CAD - $56,523 - $75,458
Please note that the expected hiring range provided is derived from a group of like roles within Sofina. The final offer amount for this role will be dependent on geographical region, applicable experience, skillset of the candidate and internal equity.
