Job Summary:

The Cook Chill Food Production Center is located on the grounds of the Maplehurst Correctional Facility; however, Cook Chill operates as an independent production facility and is separate from Maplehurst Corrections. There are no inmates on site at any time. Civeo Premium associates do not have any interaction with, nor access to, inmates.

We are seeking an experienced Sanitation Manager to lead and oversee all aspects of facility cleanliness, sanitation, and hygiene in a regulated food production environment. This role is responsible for managing sanitation programs, supervising the sanitation team, and ensuring full compliance with HACCP, GMP, WHMIS, the Occupational Health and Safety Act, and company policies and procedures.

Working closely with the HACCP Coordinator and operations leadership, the Sanitation Manager ensures sanitation schedules, documentation, environmental testing, and corrective actions are effectively implemented and maintained. The successful candidate will provide strong leadership in a unionized environment, promote safe work practices, support training and performance management, and uphold our core values of Safety, Respect, Care, Integrity, Collaboration, and Excellence while maintaining a safe, clean, and compliant facility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee all sanitation and cleanliness activities for the facility, equipment, and grounds. 

  • Supervise the sanitation team, including training, scheduling, performance management, and discipline. 

  • Develop, maintain, and enforce sanitation programs, schedules, and HACCP‑based procedures. 

  • Partner with the HACCP Coordinator to review testing results and implement corrective actions. 

  • Ensure compliance with GMP, food safety, WHMIS, Occupational Health & Safety legislation, and company policies. 

  • Maintain accurate documentation, chemical inventories, and sanitation records. 

  • Promote a safe work environment through training, PPE enforcement, incident reporting, and investigations.

Qualifications 

  • 5+ years of supervisory experience in food service sanitation or a related production environment. 

  • Advanced Food Safety Training with strong knowledge of HACCP, GMP, WHMIS, and OH&S regulations. 

  • Experience leading teams in a unionized environment. 

  • Strong leadership, organizational, and problem‑solving skills. 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). 

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills. 

  • Ability to work in a physically demanding, fast‑paced, and cold production environment.

  • Ability to meet required security clearances, including a vulnerable sector check.
