Job Title: Contracts Administrator
Reporting directly to Senior Contracts Lead, the Contracts Administrator will be responsible for contract management, compliance, and communication, advising and consulting with multi-disciplinary teams on our Eskay Creek project. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction contracts, procurement, and experience in a new build environment within heavy industry, ideally mining, along with excellent organizational and negotiation skills.
Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
Contract Administration & Compliance
- Administer on-site service contracts, MSAs, and consulting agreements, including amendments and work orders.
- Ensure contractor performance meets contractual scope, schedules, and deliverables.
- Monitor compliance with site requirements, personnel approvals, working hours, and industrial relations obligations.
- Verify adherence to HSE policies, site access rules, insurance, travel, and camp accommodation requirements.
Contractor & Vendor Coordination
- Serve as the primary on-site point of contact for contractor coordination, questions, and escalations.
- Support communication of changes and document flow between the ECML and contractors.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate contract records, amendments, notices, and change orders.
- Track milestones, deliverables, risks, and performance issues.
- Provide weekly crossover notes to ensure continuity between rotations.
Site Issue Resolution
- Identify and resolve contract related issues, including scope deviations, scheduling impacts, shortages, or noncompliance.
- Collaborate with Operations, Site Services, HR, Sustainability and HSE to address cross functional issues.
- Lead clarification meetings with contractors and internal stakeholders as needed.
Support Procurement & Head Office
- Coordinate with the HQ Contracts team on expiring contracts, renewals, SSJs, scope adjustments, and tendering needs.
- Assist with documentation for new MSAs, RFQs, and contract extensions.
Additional Duties
- All other duties as reasonably assigned
The Ideal Candidate
Education / Qualifications:
- Diploma or degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Paralegal/Legal Studies, Project Management, or related field.
Experience / Skills
- 3–5 years of experience in contract administration, preferably in mining, construction, or remote project environments.
- Strong understanding of contract language, service scopes, MSAs, and change‑order processes.
- Experience working in camp‑based or rotational roles is an asset.
- Familiarity with HSE policies, site access requirements, and contractor management.
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to work independently on site with minimal supervision.
Work Location & Conditions
This is a site-based camp job at Eskay Creek Mine site. This position involves working at a remote mine site on a 15 days on/13 days off rotation.
The Eskay Creek Revitalization Project is located within the Coast Mountains of Northwestern British Columbia and Tahltan Territory. Ground transportation will be provided from local communities to the Eskay Creek Site facilities. For those applicants located elsewhere in western Canada, flight transportation from major urban centers will be provided to the Terrace or Smithers airports, from which shuttles will provide transportation to the Eskay Creek Camp facilities. Travel time and expenses are subject to Skeena's Travel Policy.
There will be exposure to extreme temperatures in all seasons including working outdoors in snow, mud, ice, and water conditions, walking to and from different locations on uneven ground, prolonged periods of standing and physically handling/lifting/moving heavy objects.
Compensation
The expected annual salary range for this position is CAD $100,000- $115,000, in line with the competitive job market for such roles carried out in British Columbia. Salary ranges are guidelines and any job offer received by a candidate will be determined on a number of factors such as relevant education, training, and/or experience.
