ATSS has a client in Calvert, AL looking for an Area Manager Process Technology - Galvanizing and Rolling. DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES? The ideal candidate will provide leadership support through detail orientation, strong communication, and exceptional organization skills to support the mills and meet the business goals of the company. THE BASICS: • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering: Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Automation, Metallurgical and Materials or similar field • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a progressive leadership role • Background in steel mill processes and products, knowledge of cold rolling and hot dip galvanizing process and technology, such as annealing, coating, strip transport and control, steel properties and applications • Demonstrated knowledge of steel rolling properties and applications • Excellent communication skills with demonstrated ability to eﬀectively work cross-functionally with various groups • Ability to develop and deliver technical presentations at senior management level • Intermediate to proficient in MS Oﬃce products THE EXTRAS: • Working knowledge of SAP applications • Experience leading and/or managing teams within manufacturing industry preferred • Experience with automotive exposed and AHSS (Advanced High Strength Steel) production; process, product requirements, and technology TRAITS TO BE SUCCESSFUL • Teamwork and hands-on approach. • Demonstrated understanding of control systems, instrumentation, process models (Process Management fundament), etc. • Demonstrated ability to lead, develop, and implement improvement initiatives that increase business value • Strong decision-making, analytical, and problem-solving skills • Demonstrated ability to eﬀectively make decisions using analytical and problem-solving skills • Demonstrated ability to collaborate cross-functionally, build partnerships, and seek “win-win” solutions to meet business objectives WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING • Align asset performance with short- and long-term business objectives by driving excellence across safety, process efficiency, innovation, and people development • Develop and maintain an effective technical leadership team responsible for process technology and development • Lead the Process Technology engineers • Provide technical support for all production units including but not limited to: 1. Process and product development for production lines 2. Troubleshooting technology and quality problems 3. Training team members 4. Lead major improvement projects, improving process and product capabilities, throughput, cost (yield), energy and environmental performance, and coordination of technology activities between support areas • Responsible for regular reporting of process performance to senior management and technology watch • Fulﬁll the responsibilities required to achieve the Quality Commitment and Environmental Commitment • Demonstrate the company values of Safety, Teamwork, Accountability, Relationships, and Sustainability • Fulfill the commitment to ensure a safe and healthy work environment • Demonstrate commitment to teamwork by fostering an environment that embodies trust and respect YOUR WORK ENVIRONMENT • Office setting, Mill setting – industrial environment • Gulf coast region in Calvert, AL • Days, Monday to Friday
