Job Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity for a meticulous Shipping Clerk to join our team in the heart of San Francisco, California. As a Shipping Clerk, you will be the final gatekeeper for outgoing shipments, ensuring that all orders are accurately documented, packaged correctly, and dispatched to their destinations in a timely manner. Your role is critical to maintaining customer satisfaction and the efficient flow of our logistics operations. You will be responsible for reviewing sales orders, preparing shipping labels, coordinating with carriers, and maintaining accurate shipping records. A keen eye for detail is crucial to prevent errors and ensure that the correct items are shipped to the right customers. You will work closely with other departments, including warehousing and inventory, to ensure seamless coordination. This position requires excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment. We expect all team members to adhere to safety standards, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and to maintain a tidy and hazard-free workspace. Responsibilities:
  • Processing outgoing shipments and verifying order details.
  • Generating and applying shipping labels accurately.
  • Coordinating with shipping carriers for pickups and deliveries.
  • Preparing shipping documents and maintaining records.
  • Ensuring that packages are properly prepared for transit.
  • Communicating with customers regarding shipping status when necessary.
  • Assisting with inventory verification for outgoing orders.
  • Adhering to all company policies and safety regulations.
  • Utilizing PPE as required for specific tasks.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Shipping Clerk or in a similar administrative/logistics role.
  • Proficiency in using shipping software and online carrier portals.
  • Excellent data entry and record-keeping skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Ability to handle basic lifting and moving of packages, up to 30 lbs.
  • Good communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with general warehouse and logistics procedures.
  • Commitment to safety and proper use of PPE.
