We are seeking an experienced Inventory Control Specialist for our Nashville, Tennessee distribution center. This critical role ensures the accuracy, integrity, and organization of our inventory, directly impacting our logistics efficiency. You will be responsible for conducting cycle counts, investigating discrepancies, implementing inventory control procedures, and maintaining accurate inventory records within our warehouse management system (WMS). A strong analytical mindset, exceptional attention to detail, and a deep understanding of warehouse operations are essential. This position requires precision in data entry, the ability to perform some manual tasks including lifting , and a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment. Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies promptly.
- Maintain accurate inventory records in the WMS.
- Implement and enforce inventory control policies and procedures.
- Analyze inventory data to identify trends and recommend improvements.
- Oversee the receiving and put-away process to ensure accuracy.
- Manage stock rotation and identify obsolete or slow-moving inventory.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and guidelines, including proper use of PPE .
- Assist with shipping and receiving as needed, which may involve some lifting .
- Support the overall logistics team by providing accurate inventory data.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field is a plus.
- Proven experience in inventory control or a similar warehouse role.
- Proficiency with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and inventory software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to perform moderate physical tasks, including some lifting (up to 30 lbs).
- Knowledge of warehouse operations and logistics best practices.
- Understanding of warehouse safety procedures and the importance of PPE .
- Good communication and reporting skills.
