Our busy Nashville, Tennessee warehouse is seeking a diligent Shipping Clerk to ensure the accurate and timely dispatch of all outgoing orders. This role is crucial for maintaining our supply chain efficiency and customer satisfaction. You will be responsible for preparing shipments, coordinating with carriers, and maintaining shipping documentation.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare domestic and international shipments according to company and carrier guidelines.
- Verify order accuracy and ensure correct items are packed and labeled.
- Generate shipping labels and all necessary documentation, including bills of lading.
- Schedule pickups with various shipping carriers (e.g., FedEx, UPS, USPS, LTL).
- Load outgoing shipments onto trucks, ensuring proper securing and weight distribution.
- Track shipments and provide status updates to relevant parties.
- Maintain a clean and organized shipping area, adhering to all Safety protocols.
- Communicate effectively with internal departments and external carriers.
- Assist with receiving operations as needed.
- Ensure compliance with all shipping regulations and company policies.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous experience in a shipping, logistics, or warehouse environment.
- Proficiency in generating shipping labels and documentation using various carriers' software.
- Strong understanding of shipping Logistics and international shipping requirements (if applicable).
- Ability to perform tasks involving physical activity, including Lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Excellent organizational skills and keen attention to detail.
- Good communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) is a plus.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Safety best practices.
- Willingness to wear required PPE , such as safety vests, gloves, and safety shoes.
