The Opportunity

As part of our continued and measured growth, Tectonica is inviting an experienced Site Superintendent to join our team and play a leadership role in the delivery of our clients' projects. Working primarily within a Construction Manager as Agent delivery model, the Site Superintendent is integral to maintaining the diligence, transparency, and quality that define our approach to construction management.

This position is responsible for leading all on-site activities from mobilization through commissioning and turnover. The successful candidate will oversee daily site operations, coordinate trades, manage logistics and sequencing, and ensure all work is executed in accordance with contract documents, drawings, specifications, and regulatory requirements. A strong focus on quality assurance, safety leadership, and proactive schedule management is essential.

Beyond technical execution, we are seeking a leader who reinforces a strong safety culture, maintains a visible and collaborative presence on-site, and represents Tectonica's values and standards with professionalism. As a medium-sized company with many team members participating as shareholders, we are looking for someone interested in contributing to our long-term growth and continuing to build strong relationships with our returning and new clients across Vancouver Island.

Qualifications

Experience: Minimum 7 years of site supervision experience in commercial, municipal, healthcare, institutional, or multi-residential construction. Experience on Vancouver Island is preferred.

Field Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead daily site operations, manage trade sequencing, and maintain productivity while protecting schedule and budget performance.

Quality & Commissioning: Strong understanding of QA/QC procedures, inspections, testing, commissioning, deficiency management, and closeout processes.

Technical Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of structural systems, building envelope assemblies, mechanical and electrical coordination, and overall constructability.

Schedule & Logistics Management: Experience maintaining baseline schedules and short-term lookaheads, coordinating long-lead items and managing manpower allocations.

Safety & Compliance: Knowledge of OH&S regulations and experience leading toolbox talks, safety inspections, and maintaining digital safety documentation (e.g., SiteDocs or equivalent).

Documentation & Communication: Strong organizational skills with the ability to maintain accurate site records including daily reports, RFI's, submittals and as-built records and produce timely reports, and communicate effectively with owners, consultants, and trade partners.

Leadership & Collaboration: Ability to foster strong working relationships, maintain accountability on-site, resolve conflicts constructively, and reinforce a professional and respectful site environment.

Pay: $80,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
