Über

Job Responsibilities:
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, ensuring safe and efficient loading and handling of food products.
Review delivery paperwork for accuracy and completeness.
Deliver and unload food products using equipment such as ramps, lift gates, pallet jacks, pump trucks, dolly's and by hand to ensure timely and safe deliveries. Hand bombing is required.
Work alongside a driver helper when required and be prepared to step in as a driver helper as needed.
Verify product quantities, leave appropriate paperwork, and secure necessary signatures, as well as the collection of cheques or cash (when applicable).
Operate the vehicle safely, following Bakers & Canada safety guidelines, minimizing accidents, traffic violations, and customer complaints.
Immediately report any accidents or incidents to the Transportation Manager or Operation Manager.
Keep the vehicle well-maintained, secure, and in safe working conditions, promptly reporting any defects.
Address and resolve customer concerns as needed to maintain high service standards.
Report any delays, missing items, product damages to the Transportation Manager
Attend mandatory drivers' meetings, training sessions, and administrative tasks as required.
Uphold Bakers & Canada's professional reputation in interactions with customers, the public, and colleagues.
Perform duties in compliance with HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) and Safe Quality Food (SQF) policies and procedures, ensuring product safety.
Perform other related duties as assigned by the Transportation Manager or Operations Manager
Physical Demands:
Manual lifting of up to 50 lbs, must be able to hand bomb and break down skids.
Daily requirement of bending, kneeling, pushing, pulling, reaching above and below the shoulder, standing, walking, and sitting to drive a vehicle.
Working environment - ranges from noisy, moisture, dust, and/or fumes, snow, rain, stairs, lifts.
Qualifications, Education & Certifications:
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred.
Possession of a valid, provincially appropriate Manual DZ Driver's License
Experience:
Minimum 2 years of previous experience operating a truck(s) similar in size to the truck(s) that will be driven in the role.
Minimum 2 years Delivering LTL in GTA region in the food service industry is strongly preferred.
Clean driver's abstract.
Manual DZ experience
Required Knowledge:
Knowledge of provincially specific transportation and driving laws and mandates.
Good written and verbal communication skills in English
Good time management skills.
Detail Oriented - proficient with basic administrative tasks (Paperwork, filing, etc.)
