The Financial Coaching Program Coordinator supports a team of Financial Coaches who work with low-income parents with cognitive disabilities. This part-time role provides essential coordination, communication, and administrative support to ensure services are accessible, responsive, and centered on each individual's goals and needs.

For 35 years, Connections has been a leader in providing parenting education and family support to parents with cognitive disabilities and their families. We support people with cognitive disabilities to make choices and decisions for their lives, including being successful parents.  Connections provides in-home support and parenting skills education, financial coaching, group programs, counselling, and community resourcing to families in the greater Calgary area to help them maintain safe and nurturing homes.

As a Financial Coaching Program Coordinator, you'll be part of a program recognized as a leader in Calgary's financial empowerment community—and help build stronger, more secure futures for parents with cognitive disabilities and their families.

What You'll Do 

  • Provide coordination and administrative support to a team of Financial Coaches
  • Help manage the program's shared email inbox and phone line, including monitoring messages regularly, responding directly when appropriate, and routing inquiries to the correct team member
  • Triage client and partner inquiries using established service prioritization frameworks.
  • Support scheduling, follow-ups, and internal communication.
  • Coordinate the program's tax preparation services with multiple volunteers.
  • Support outreach, intake tracking, and scheduling
  • Support the coaching team in benefits navigation and realization efforts.
  • Help track client progress related to benefits access and outcomes.
  • Maintain professional, respectful relationships with Connections team members to strengthen cross-functional collaboration.
  • Support families in understanding next steps and connecting with the appropriate coach or service.
  • Assist with client management system data entry, tracking, and reporting as needed.
  • Help maintain organized records in compliance with confidentiality requirements.
  • Adhere to Connections' policies and practice standards and fulfill all reporting requirements. 

What We're Looking For 

  • 2-5 years' experience in program coordination, administrative support, or case management (social services sector preferred).
  • Professional, discreet, proactive, and collaborative communication style. 
  • Comfortable with managing shared inboxes, phone lines, and scheduling.
  • Experience working with people with disabilities and/or families navigating public benefits strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with tax preparation services, financial coaching, or public benefits is a plus.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint) and comfortable learning new technologies; experience using a client management system an asset
  • Exceptional organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving skills. 
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.

Other important requirements for this role:   

  • This position will work onsite at our office in NW Calgary. 
  • A Criminal Record check (including vulnerable sector screening) and Child Welfare Intervention Record check dated within the last 90 days, and a willingness to undergo renewal of such checks at least every 3 years.
  • Current First Aid and CPR, or willingness to obtain certification within 30 days of employment. 
  • Successful applicants may be asked to provide proof of qualifications.

Please note that this position works 3 days per week (22.5 hours per week) and is a one-year fixed term contract, with the possibility of extension.  This position may accommodate candidates seeking a flexible or reduced schedule.
