Apex Aluminum is a state-of-the-art aluminum extrusion factory located in Langley, British Columbia, Canada. With a 170,000 square foot aluminum extrusion facility and some of the most modern equipment in its industry, Apex can offer custom extrusions, mill finish aluminum and anodized aluminum to satisfy the most demanding customer and all architectural needs.
As a Waste Water Technician you will be responsible for controlling the flow and processing of water/wastewater, conducting routine laboratory tests and analyses, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, performing maintenance tasks, and other related duties. This position reports directly to the Anodizing Manager and has the following general duties and responsibilities assigned to their role.
Duties And Responsibilities
Operation and Monitoring:
Control flow and processing of water/wastewater, residuals, and finished water/effluent.
Operate valves, gates, and equipment manually or via remote control.
Monitor gauges, meters, and control panels to ensure optimal operating conditions.
Testing and Analysis:
Collect samples of water/wastewater for routine laboratory tests.
Conduct analyses and interpret test results to determine processing requirements.
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements through regular inspections and testing.
Maintenance and Repair:
Perform routine maintenance and repairs on water distribution and wastewater treatment systems.
Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues as they arise.
Additional Responsibilities:
Implement security, safety, and emergency procedures related to chemical hazards and personal protective equipment.
Maintain detailed shift logs and reports.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date plant records and documentation.
Assist with administrative duties related to maintenance records and operational plans.
Adhere to general health and safety protocols within the work environment.
Other duties, as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Post-secondary education, training, and/or certifications in water treatment, distribution, or wastewater treatment are advantageous.
Experience in collecting and testing water samples is preferred.
Ability to read water meters, maintain maintenance records, and update operational plans.
Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with manufacturing, fusion, geothermal, geo-exchange, or fire hydrant maintenance is an asset.
Field experience in plumbing, electrical, or mechanical trades is an asset.
Intermediate in MS Teams, Word, and Excel.
