We are seeking a diligent Shipping & Receiving Associate to join our team in Portland, Oregon. This multifaceted role is crucial for managing the flow of goods into and out of our facility, ensuring operational efficiency and accuracy within our logistics chain. You will be responsible for receiving incoming shipments, verifying contents, documenting arrivals, and preparing outgoing shipments for transit. This includes picking, packing, and staging orders correctly. A strong focus on Safety is paramount; all employees must strictly adhere to safety procedures and utilize appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times. The ideal candidate possesses excellent organizational skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, physically demanding environment. You will work closely with other team members and supervisors to meet daily shipping and receiving targets. Key Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and inspect all incoming shipments for damage and accuracy.
- Verify received goods against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Accurately document all inbound and outbound shipments in the WMS.
- Pick, pack, and stage orders for outgoing shipment according to specifications.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment safely and efficiently.
- Ensure all shipments are properly labeled and staged for carrier pickup.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in the receiving and shipping areas.
- Adhere to all Safety regulations and company policies, including the correct use of PPE.
- Identify and report any discrepancies, damages, or Safety hazards immediately.
- Assist with inventory control tasks, such as cycle counts, as needed.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to achieve departmental goals for logistics operations.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in shipping, receiving, or a general warehouse role is highly preferred.
- Ability to perform tasks requiring physical stamina, including frequent standing, walking, and Lifting.
- Comfortable with Lifting items weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in basic math and reading comprehension.
- Understanding of warehouse operations and logistics processes.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and proper PPE usage.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
- Experience operating warehouse equipment like forklifts is a strong asset.
