We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Receiving Clerk for our bustling warehouse in Kansas City, Missouri. In this vital role, you will be responsible for the accurate and efficient processing of all incoming goods. This includes verifying deliveries against purchase orders, inspecting for damage, and ensuring proper entry into our inventory system. Your meticulous approach is key to maintaining accurate inventory levels and supporting the smooth flow of our logistics operations. You will work closely with suppliers, delivery personnel, and internal warehouse staff to ensure all deliveries are handled correctly. Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and inspect all incoming shipments carefully.
- Verify delivered items against purchase orders, packing slips, and invoices for accuracy.
- Document any discrepancies, damages, or shortages immediately.
- Enter received goods into the inventory management system accurately.
- Tag and label items as required.
- Organize and stage received goods for put-away by warehouse staff.
- Maintain a clean and orderly receiving area.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and ensure the proper use of PPE in the receiving zone.
- Communicate effectively with vendors and internal teams regarding deliveries.
- Assist with other warehouse and logistics tasks as needed.
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Receiving Clerk or in a similar warehouse role is preferred.
- Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to accurately count and verify inventory.
- Basic computer proficiency, including experience with inventory systems.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Understanding of basic logistics and supply chain principles.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
- Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to all safety guidelines and the use of PPE.
