Salary: Relevant apprentice rates

What We Are Looking For

Are you ready to kickstart your career in finance? We are on the lookout for a motivated Sales Ledger and Billing Apprentice to join our Finance Department. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience and a comprehensive understanding of finance operations.

As part of your journey, you will be supported to complete the AAT qualification, setting you up for success!

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will be trained to assist the team with a variety of tasks, including:

  • Ensuring timely payment collections through effective communication with customers
  • Contacting local authorities for updates on outstanding invoices (with guidance)
  • Assisting in raising invoices and credit notes using both automated systems and manual postings
  • Posting received payments onto the finance system
  • Updating records to track payment due dates
  • Supporting the team in minimizing overdue debt
  • Learning to maintain accurate sales ledger records
  • Resolving customer queries via phone and email
  • Creating manual invoices for additional services
  • Keeping organized notes and records for audit purposes
  • Meeting deadlines and adapting to the finance team's needs
About You

We are looking for someone who possesses the following skills and experience:

  • GCSE qualifications are essential
  • Basic knowledge of the Microsoft Suite, especially Excel
  • Experience in a finance function within a large organization is a plus
