About Our SchoolLocated in the heart of Banbury, our school is designed to accommodate up to 60 pupils aged 5 to 18 with a range of complex needs. Your Role and ResponsibilitiesAs a School Caretaker, you will play a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and secure environment for our students. Your responsibilities will include:
- Ensuring the school premises, including buildings and grounds, are clean and secure.
- Performing cleaning, maintenance, and minor repairs.
- Supervising school cleaning staff.
- Promoting health and safety throughout the school.
- Managing furniture and equipment movement.
- Reporting maintenance issues to the Head Teacher.
- Conducting emergency cleaning duties as needed.
- Maintaining security as the main key holder, including locking and unlocking the premises.
- Conducting regular health and safety checks and reporting any hazards.
To thrive in this role, you should have:
- Previous experience in property maintenance or caretaking, preferably in a school environment.
- Knowledge of building maintenance and security systems.
- Understanding of health and safety regulations.
- Basic DIY skills and good interpersonal abilities.
- Strong literacy and numeracy skills.
- A willingness to work with SEMH children.
- A valid UK driving licence and access to transport.
- Willingness to undergo an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check, with costs covered by Polaris.
