Basic Salary: £26,402
Contract: Full-time - 37.5 hours per week

As a School Caretaker, you will play a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and secure environment for our students. Your responsibilities will include:

• Ensuring the school premises, including buildings and grounds, are clean and secure.
• Performing cleaning, maintenance, and minor repairs.
• Supervising school cleaning staff.
• Promoting health and safety throughout the school.
• Managing furniture and equipment movement.
• Reporting maintenance issues to the Head Teacher.
• Conducting emergency cleaning duties as needed.
• Maintaining security as the main key holder, including locking and unlocking the premises.
• Conducting regular health and safety checks and reporting any hazards.

To thrive in this role, you should have:

• Previous experience in property maintenance or caretaking, preferably in a school environment.
• Knowledge of building maintenance and security systems.
• Understanding of health and safety regulations.
• Basic DIY skills and good interpersonal abilities.
• Strong literacy and numeracy skills.
• A willingness to work with SEMH children.
• A valid UK driving licence and access to transport.
• Willingness to undergo an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check, with costs covered by Polaris.
