Join Our Team as a Residential Childcare Support Worker!

Location: Lancaster

Contract: Full-time, Permanent

Hours: 40 hours per week

Salary: Starting at £25,563.20, with potential earnings up to £32,283.20 through sleep-in shifts.

Are you ready to make a real difference in the lives of young people? We are seeking a dynamic and inspirational Residential Childcare Support Worker to join our dedicated team at Bayview. You will work in a warm, family-oriented environment, supporting a maximum of four young people in our homes located in Heysham or rural North Lancaster.

Your Role

In this fulfilling position, you will guide young individuals aged 8-18 who face social, emotional, and behavioral challenges. Your commitment to our ethos will help create a safe, secure, and nurturing environment, allowing these young people to thrive. Our homes are rated 'Outstanding' or 'Good' by Ofsted, and we need passionate individuals like you to help us maintain and elevate our standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional childcare and support as a Key Worker, exceeding Ofsted's National Standards.
  • Enhance the lives of young residents through purposeful engagement and care.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with families, friends, and external agencies.
  • Foster a culture of trust and mutual respect among children and staff.
Childcare Provision
  • Develop high-quality care plans tailored to each young person's needs.
  • Adhere to all legal requirements, Ofsted standards, and Bay View policies.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and secure home environment.
  • Build trusting relationships with children, understanding their backgrounds and needs.
  • Engage proactively with children, creating an inclusive atmosphere where they feel at home.
  • Supervise children actively, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Manage and de-escalate conflicts in line with our policies.
  • Communicate any concerns regarding the children to management promptly.
  • Participate in activities with children, fostering a supportive and fun environment.
Requirements
  • Diploma Level 3 in Working with Children & Young People or Level 4 Children, Young People and Families Practitioner Apprenticeship (to be completed within 2 years if not already held).
  • Full UK driving license.
