Goal:
Smooth typing in a large thread test case
Work includes:
Reproduce the lag
Profile with Instruments (Time Profiler + Core Animation)
Identify the main-thread bottleneck
Implement the highest-ROI fix
Show before/after comparison
Examples of acceptable fixes:
render isolation
stable identity
state ownership refactor
removing heavy work from body
debounce / cancellation issues
Not in scope for this phase:
Database/backend rewrite
Full chat architecture redesign
Deliverables
Instruments capture showing the bottleneck
Short written explanation of root cause
Incremental PRs / commits
Before/after video in the same large thread
Hard cap: 25 hours
Because budget is tight, we will work with checkpoints:
First checkpoint (~2 hours):
Reproduce lag
Share Instruments screenshot
Identify main-thread hotspot
We review before continuing.
If performance is solved before the cap → we stop early.
Contract duration of less than 1 month.
