Job Summary:

The Cook Chill Food Production Center is located on the grounds of the Maplehurst Correctional Facility; however, Cook Chill operates as an independent production facility and is separate from Maplehurst Corrections. There are no inmates on site at any time. Civeo Premium associates do not have any interaction with, nor access to, inmates.

We are seeking an experienced Facilities Manager to oversee all preventative maintenance, servicing, and infrastructure support for our facility. In this role, you will ensure that building systems, mechanical equipment, and utility operations run safely, reliably, and efficiently. You will be responsible for maintaining full compliance with Ministry requirements, company policies, provincial regulations, and all applicable standards while supporting a well‑functioning and fully compliant facility environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operation, performance, and maintenance of all facility and mechanical systems. 

  • Coordinate preventative and corrective maintenance programs to minimize downtime and support continuous operations. 

  • Ensure the facility meets all safety, regulatory, and compliance requirements. 

  • Manage and initiate equipment repairs, engaging licensed contractors for specialized work. 

  • Schedule, assign tasks, and support performance management for mechanics and apprentices. 

  • Ensure preventative maintenance tasks are completed according to schedule and standards. 

  • Oversee cleaning, inspection, and proper treatment of the ice chiller and related systems. 

  • Respond to emergency maintenance issues and support facility emergency procedures. 

  • Manage general interior maintenance, including painting, plaster repairs, and other routine tasks. 

  • Monitor on‑site contractors to ensure adherence to safety, security, and quality expectations. 

  • Source parts, obtain quotes, and process orders in alignment with policies and contracts. 

  • Maintain detailed maintenance records, checklists, and logs. 

  • Ensure all facility operations comply with OH&S, building codes, Ministry requirements, and organizational standards. 

  • Support additional facility projects and assignments as required.

Qualifications 

  • High school diploma or equivalent. 

  • Licensed tradesperson with strong hands‑on mechanical and tool skills. 

  • 10+ years of supervisory experience in maintenance, facilities, or skilled trades. 

  • Strong knowledge of building systems, preventative maintenance, and construction practices. 

  • Experience in high‑security or institutional environments is an asset. 

  • Advanced Food Safety Training (or willingness to complete company‑provided training). 

  • Excellent leadership, communication, mathematical, and problem‑solving abilities. 

  • Able to read instructions, write clearly, and present information to individuals or groups. 

  • Comfortable working in a secure, regulated, and operationally complex environment. 

  • Valid Ontario driver's licence with a 5‑year abstract meeting company safety requirements. 

  • Must successfully pass all required security clearances (drug/alcohol screening, vulnerable sector, criminal record check, etc.).
