The Aircraft Reliability Specialist supports the monitoring and analysis of fleet technical reliability and Tech D0 performance. This role assists with data collection, reporting, and basic trend analysis to help identify reliability issues and improvement opportunities. Working under the guidance of Senior Specialist Aircraft Reliability and Fleet Chiefs, the role contributes to initiatives aimed at improving dispatch performance, reducing unscheduled maintenance events, and supporting lifecycle cost optimization. The Aircraft Reliability Specialist collaborates with Fleet Chiefs, In-service Engineers, Tech Support, Aircraft Programs, MCC, and Maintenance Planning to support ongoing reliability improvement activities.
Responsibilities:
Support the tracking and reporting of fleet reliability KPIs (e.g., Tech D0, Technical Dispatch Reliability, PIREP rates, MTBUR, alert levels, severity indicators).
Assist with root cause analysis of chronic or emerging technical issues, including repetitive defects, component reliability concerns, NFF (no fault found) findings, and data anomalies.
Contribute to reliability improvement initiatives by supporting analysis, action tracking, and follow-up activities in coordination with Maintenance Programs, Planning, and Supply Chain.
Support Fleet Chiefs by providing data, analysis, and reliability insights to help prioritize technical and engineering actions.
Assist with preparation of documentation and data required for internal reviews and audit support activities.
Support communications and data exchanges with OEMs related to reliability topics and in-service performance.
Provide analytical support for maintenance program reviews, including task effectiveness, interval performance, and reliability trends.
Participate in technical reviews, service bulletin assessments, and in-service experience activities as assigned.
Perform data analysis and reporting; prepare reliability dashboards and contribute to periodic reliability reports for internal stakeholders.
Support development of basic cost, trend, or impact assessment related to reliability improvement initiatives.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or related Engineering discipline, or relevant aircraft maintenance or technical training.
Minimum of 6-8 years of experience in aircraft maintenance, engineering, reliability, or technical services.
Exposure to an airline, MRO, or OEM environment is an asset.
Familiarity with Boeing 737NG, 737MAX, 787, or Dash 8-Q400 aircraft is an asset.
Strong analytical skills and the ability to lead complex technical projects.
Proficiency in engineering software and maintenance management systems.
Effective written and verbal communication skills for working with cross-functional teams.
Well-organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
Demonstrates professionalism, integrity, and a willingness to learn and develop technical expertise.
