The Opportunity
Vermilion Energy has an exciting opportunity within the Corporate Planning and Investor Relations group, seeking a Corporate Planning Analyst. Based in Calgary, AB, this role will report directly to the Director, Investor Relations & Corporate Planning and be an integral part of the team.
This position contributes to Vermilion's continued success by providing best-in-class information solutions that support optimal business decisions. Ongoing responsibilities include: the compilation, analysis and communication of the annual corporate budget and long-range plan ("LRP"), execution of various planning scenarios, all through gaining a deep understanding of the corporate financial model, and delivering on complex projects and analysis.

What you will do
Execution of the annual consolidated budgeting and LRP process:
Working closely with many stakeholders to ensure that the budgeting and LRP functions are performed in an efficient and accurate manner
Assisting in the presentation of the consolidated annual budget
Maintaining, upgrading and enhancing the LRP on an ongoing basis
Own, maintain, and continuously enhance the company's integrated corporate financial model, ensuring the model accurately reflects key operational and financial drivers that generate corporate cash flows;
Support our Executive and Operational Leadership teams by providing budget and forecast updates and strategic analysis on our business to enhance long-term profitability;
Collaborating with our global operations and finance teams to identify, analyze, and continuously improve reporting processes and tools to provide stakeholders with more user-friendly and insightful information;
Deliver ad hoc reports and analyses to our department's customers on an as-required basis while ensuring that such requests are properly prioritized;
Assisting in the evaluation of acquisition and divestment opportunities as required; and
Completing special project work as required.
What you will bring
University degree in Finance, Accounting or similar. Professional designation, or working towards one, such as CFA or CPA, required.
Three to five years relevant experience preferred.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Effective member of high performing team with strong interpersonal skills that can communicate and influence effectively at all levels.
Capable of working with complex financial models demonstrating ability to apply judgement and to make decisions.
Ability to work well under pressure in a self-directed environment and deliver to deadlines.
Advanced financial modelling and Excel skills.
Strong communicator using PowerPoint.
Familiarity with Power BI and SAP reporting tools, along with Mosaic E&P planning software would be an asset.
