Reporting to the VP, Corporate Partnerships, the Business Development Director is a proven, elite-level seller who helps drive growth across OSEG's marquee properties. This role hunts new business, and closes high-value partnerships that deliver real impact for brands and fans alike to each of OSEG's business entities; TD Place, Ottawa REDBLACKS, Ottawa 67's, and OSEG Foundation. The Business Development Director is not a servicing role, it focusses on building, selling, and scaling premium partnerships with national and regional brands in one of Canada's most dynamic sports & entertainment ecosystems.
This full-time, permanent role offers a competitive salary range of $76,200 to $95,200, plus bonus with 100% employer-paid benefits. Final compensation will be determined based on the successful candidate's experience and qualifications. This is a replacement position and offers flexibility to work in a hybrid arrangement.
What you'll do:
- Hunt and close new revenue, with a strong focus on national and regional brands.
- Prospect, research, and qualify leads using a consultative, insight-led sales approach.
- Lead discovery conversations that uncover business challenges and translate them into compelling Partnership solutions.
- Develop strategic, customized Partnership Programs that drive measurable value.
- Build long-term relationships aligned with OSEG's broader business and brand objectives.
- Collaborate with the Partnerships Account Services team to bring ideas to life, from pitch through execution.
- Manage TD Place premium seating inventory and align assets with partner objectives.
- Act as a visible ambassador for OSEG, TD Place, and Lansdowne — internally and externally.
What's needed:
- Five (5)+ years of success in Partnership sales or business development, ideally in sports, entertainment, media, or events.
- A proven track record of closing complex, high-value deals.
- Deep understanding of partnership fundamentals, including:
- Intellectual property and sponsorship rights
- Brand activation across digital, social, broadcast, and on-site platforms
- Media and marketing metrics (ratings, brand lift, research, ROI)
- Strong industry relationships across sports, events, media, or brand marketing (Canadian market experience preferred).
- Confidence leading senior-level conversations with marketers and decision-makers.
- A hunter's mindset: curious, competitive, strategic, and relentlessly driven.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
- Flexibility to travel as required.
- Ability to work non-traditional hours, including events, evenings, and weekends.
- Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset.
