The Opportunity
The Operational Risk Analyst is responsible for supporting Alberta Central's operational risk and resiliency program. The role contributes to an enterprise wide operational risk management framework and supports resiliency through business continuity planning, crisis management, and third-party risk management This position works independently with general supervision
What You'll Be Doing
- Support the operational risk management framework through risk & control assessments, key risk indicators, and alignment with OSFI's E‑21 Operational Risk Management & Resilience Guideline .
- Identify and assess operational risks across people, processes, technology, and external events.
- Maintain and test business continuity plans, including remediation tracking and readiness reporting with key stakeholders.
- Support crisis management preparedness through policy maintenance, tabletop exercises, and post‑incident reviews.
- Maintain the third‑party risk management program, including risk assessment, mitigation, and reporting for critical vendors.
- Support corporate insurance activities, including renewals, remarkets, and claims readiness.
- Act as a risk management resource to internal and external stakeholders, promoting a risk‑aware culture and supporting training.
- Prepare risk management reporting and presentations for senior leadership and risk committees.
- Conduct research and development as it relates to risk management to improve the organization's risk management and business continuity practices.
- All other duties as assigned.
How You'll Succeed
- Related post-secondary and/or minimum of 2 years of risk management and business continuity experience; or an equivalent of formal education and experience
- Working towards, or attainment of a professional designation in Risk Management (CRM, AMBCI)
- Previous Financial Services Industry Experience
- Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to set priorities and effectively manage multiple tasks
- Proven ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Strong analytical skills with proven qualitative problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Possess good communication and organizational skills
- Proficiency Level of Microsoft Office Suite: Word - intermediate, Excel - Intermediate, PowerPoint - intermediate and Outlook – intermediate
- Must be bondable
