POSITION TITLE: Production Planner I
LOCATION: North Bay, ON
Salary: ,791.63 to 59,357.60 per year.
About the Position: The Production Planner I is responsible for prioritizing, scheduling, and releasing work orders and travelers to production to ensure timely completion/delivery of components related to capital equipment, based on the MPS.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Produce work orders manually as directed by the Materials Manager.
- Daily review and process applicable AX actions including pick lists, stock adjustments, issues receipts etc.
- Daily review of Current Order Report to action any dead or stag production parts to ensure production flow through applicable work centers.
- Produce Priority reports as applicable.
- Process ECN's to review system requirements and ensure revised drawings/kits are removed from the shop floor, properly disposed and replaced with current revisions.
- Participate in production planning sessions to ensure meeting of delivery and production targets are met efficiently and cost efficient related to materials responsibilities.
- Participate in year-end inventory counts and reconciliation.
- Identify bottleneck areas of production and report to supervision and management as well as assist with resolutions to ensure work orders are met respective of priorities.
- Demonstrate safety by complying with all company and government safety rules, regulations and procedures.
- Develop and implement plans to decrease manufacturing lead times, decrease costs and waste.
- Promote and participate in Continuous Improvement to meet company objectives.
- Process inquires for expedited orders by providing delivery estimates and feasibility.
Qualifications:
Education
- Minimum High School Diploma or Certificate of Completion
- Diploma or Degree in Business or Materials (AAPICS) Administration, Materials Management, or related discipline preferred
Experience
- Two (2) + years' experience with production planning in a heavy equipment manufacturing setting
- Proven organizational skills and strong attention to detail
- Strong computer skills (MS Office)
- Previous experience working with MRP/ERP software (Dynamic AX)
- Proven ability to communicate effectively with employees at all levels of the organization
- Demonstrable initiative with Continuous Improvement (i.e. providing suggestions leading to cost reduction and/or containment, increased efficiency, increased communication, etc.)
