With talented teams across North America, Europe and Asia, we imagine, develop and deliver a better future with our customers. In this dynamic global enterprise, the Global Tax group oversees complex global tax matters of diverse scope where analysis requires evaluation of business and taxation aspects on a multinational or global basis.

As an Analyst, Tax at Celestica, you'll be a foundational individual contributor providing support for tax accounting and compliance, primarily domestically. You'll assist in preparing tax schedules and basic journal entries, and help ensure tax requirements are met. This entry-level role requires attention to detail, a developing analytical mindset, and the ability to work on well-defined tasks under general supervision, contributing to tax operations that support business growth and profitability for segments like ATS (Advanced Technology Solutions), CCS (Connectivity & Cloud Solutions), and HPS (Hardware Platform Solutions).

Responsibilities
  • Tax Compliance & Accounting Support: Assist in the preparation of schedules and data for corporate income tax returns and other basic tax-related compliance documents. Prepare basic journal entries, perform ledger analysis, and help reconcile tax-related accounts.

  • Data Collection & Review: Collect and organize financial data relevant for tax reporting and analysis. Review system reports for basic tax accuracy.

  • Audit Assistance: Provide assistance in gathering documentation and information for both internal and external  tax audits or other tax inquiries.

  • Process Adherence & Documentation: Work within established professional standards and practices, following defined procedures and methods for tax assignments. Maintain accurate records for tax-related transactions and documents.

  • Problem Identification: Identify basic problems or discrepancies in tax data or processes, referring situations not covered by standard procedures to a manager or senior team member.

  • Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively within the tax team and cross-functionally (e.g., with Accounting, Finance) to achieve shared objectives.

  • Project & Work Group Participation: You will participate in multi-functional work groups or project teams, assisting with process improvements and supporting the planning and prioritization of work for the team. You'll provide advice and guidance on defined tasks within your area of specialty.

  • Relationship Management: You will build and maintain cooperative relationships with colleagues. You'll participate in meetings, offering input and providing explanations in a problem-solving capacity. You will support and contribute to achieving team objectives, assisting in the resolution of routine conflicts in a tactful and diplomatic manner.

Critical Skills

The ideal candidate for this role will have:

  • Foundational Tax & Accounting Knowledge: Basic understanding of tax principles, accounting concepts, and their application in a corporate setting.

  • Analytical & Detail-Oriented: Ability to consolidate and analyze financial data for tax purposes. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data preparation.

  • Technical Proficiency: Proficiency with PC applications (e.g., Microsoft Office). Ability to learn and use tax-specific software and ERP systems.

  • Communication Skills: Good verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly present information.

  • Problem-Solving Aptitude: Capacity to identify problems and contribute to their resolution within defined parameters.

  • Organizational Skills: Ability to manage tasks efficiently and maintain accuracy under deadlines.

  • Global Awareness: Basic understanding of the global business environment and Celestica's operations across segments like ATS, CCS, and HPS.
