We are seeking a meticulous and organized Shipping Clerk to join our bustling logistics hub in Los Angeles, California. As a Shipping Clerk, you will play a key role in ensuring that all outgoing shipments are processed accurately, efficiently, and on time. Your attention to detail will be critical in preparing shipping documents, coordinating with carriers, and maintaining records. This role is fundamental to our supply chain and requires someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and understands the importance of timely deliveries.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and process all shipping documentation accurately, including bills of lading and manifests.
- Coordinate with shipping carriers to schedule pickups and track outgoing shipments.
- Inspect outgoing goods to ensure they match order specifications and are packaged correctly.
- Maintain organized and accurate shipping records, both physical and digital.
- Communicate with internal departments and external customers regarding shipment status.
- Ensure compliance with all shipping regulations and company policies, including safety guidelines.
- Operate shipping software and equipment as needed.
- Wear appropriate PPE at all times in designated areas.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Shipping Clerk or in a similar administrative or logistics role.
- Proficiency in shipping software and general computer skills.
- Strong organizational skills and keen attention to detail.
- Ability to perform light lifting, up to 25 pounds.
- Understanding of logistics and supply chain processes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
