Are you an organized and detail-oriented individual? Our growing company in San Antonio, Texas is looking for a proactive Shipping Clerk to join our logistics team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that all outgoing shipments are accurately documented, processed, and prepared for dispatch. You will work closely with warehouse staff and carriers to facilitate the smooth flow of goods and maintain efficient logistics operations. Your meticulous approach to record-keeping and coordination will be crucial to our success in meeting delivery schedules and customer expectations. Responsibilities:
- Prepare shipping documents, including bills of lading, packing slips, and shipping labels.
- Verify that all shipments match outgoing orders and customer requirements.
- Coordinate with carriers for pickup and delivery schedules.
- Track shipments and provide updates to relevant parties.
- Maintain organized shipping records and files.
- Operate shipping software and equipment.
- Communicate with internal departments and external partners regarding shipping status.
- Ensure that all outgoing packages meet carrier requirements and are properly prepared for transit.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the use of appropriate PPE.
- Assist with receiving and other warehouse duties as needed to support overall logistics.
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Shipping Clerk, logistics coordinator, or in a similar administrative role.
- Proficiency in using shipping software and standard office applications.
- Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Understanding of shipping regulations and logistics best practices.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds occasionally.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe work area and wearing necessary PPE.
