Our dynamic logistics company is seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Forklift Operator to join our team in Durham, North Carolina. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for operating forklifts to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. This role is crucial to the efficient operation of our warehouse and distribution center. You will ensure that materials are moved safely and accurately, contributing to the overall success of our logistics operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of warehouse procedures and a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment. You will work closely with other warehouse staff, including supervisors and associates, to ensure seamless workflow and timely order fulfillment. Attention to detail is paramount, as you will be handling various types of inventory and ensuring correct placement and tracking. Your primary focus will be on operating powered industrial trucks to transport stock or materials to and from production and storage areas, loading and unloading trailers, and verifying counts and condition of goods. This position involves regular lifting of items up to 50 lbs and requires a good level of physical fitness. - Safely operate forklifts to move, stack, and retrieve materials.
- Load and unload trailers, ensuring proper weight distribution and securement.
- Perform pre-operation checks on forklifts and report any maintenance issues.
- Maintain accurate inventory records through proper placement and scanning.
- Adhere to all safety regulations, including the use of PPE and proper lifting techniques.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient warehouse operations.
- Assist with other warehouse duties as needed.
