We are seeking a skilled and dependable Forklift Operator to join our dynamic logistics team in Sacramento, California. This role is crucial for ensuring the efficient movement of goods within our distribution center. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of safe and productive forklift operation, a strong understanding of warehouse operations, and a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment. You will be responsible for operating various types of forklifts to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. This includes loading and unloading trailers, transporting materials to and from designated areas, and ensuring that all inventory is handled with care.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts safely and efficiently to move pallets, cartons, and other materials.
- Load and unload trucks and containers.
- Transport materials to and from various warehouse locations, including production, storage, and shipping areas.
- Perform pre-operation inspections on forklifts to ensure they are in good working condition.
- Identify and report any damaged goods or equipment malfunctions immediately.
- Maintain accurate inventory records by scanning items and updating the system.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Assist with other warehouse duties as needed, such as picking, packing, or staging orders.
- Must be comfortable with manual lifting up to 50 lbs on a frequent basis.
- Contribute to a positive and productive team environment.
Qualifications:
- Valid forklift certification and experience.
- Proven ability to operate forklifts in a fast-paced logistics environment.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures.
- Must be able to perform physical tasks, including lifting and standing for extended periods.
- Reliable and punctual.
