Job Summary:
We are hiring an experienced Inventory Control Specialist for our facility in Austin, Texas. This role is critical for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our inventory throughout the entire logistics process. You will be responsible for developing and implementing inventory control procedures, conducting regular audits, analyzing inventory data, and identifying areas for improvement. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and a deep understanding of warehouse operations. Responsibilities:
  • Develop, implement, and maintain inventory control procedures and policies.
  • Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits to ensure accuracy.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, identifying root causes.
  • Analyze inventory data to identify trends, optimize stock levels, and reduce waste.
  • Monitor inventory aging and manage the disposition of obsolete or slow-moving stock.
  • Oversee the put-away process to ensure items are stored correctly and efficiently.
  • Work closely with receiving, picking, and shipping teams to maintain inventory integrity.
  • Implement and enforce safety protocols related to inventory handling and storage, ensuring proper PPE is used.
  • Utilize Warehouse Management System (WMS) and other inventory software effectively.
  • Generate and report on key inventory metrics (e.g., accuracy, turnover, shrinkage).
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives for inventory management and logistics.
  • Train warehouse staff on inventory control procedures.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field is a plus.
  • Proven experience as an Inventory Control Specialist or in a similar role.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data interpretation skills.
  • Proficiency with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and advanced Excel skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Knowledge of warehouse operations and logistics principles.
  • Ability to perform moderate lifting (up to 30 lbs).
  • Strong understanding of safety procedures and experience ensuring compliance with PPE requirements.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
