We are looking for an experienced Inventory Control Specialist to manage and maintain the integrity of our inventory at our Richmond, Virginia distribution center. This critical role involves overseeing all aspects of inventory management, from receiving and put-away to stock rotation and cycle counting. You will be instrumental in ensuring our logistics operations run smoothly by maintaining precise stock levels and minimizing discrepancies. Responsibilities:
- Implement and manage inventory control procedures to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits to identify and resolve discrepancies.
- Investigate root causes of inventory variances and implement corrective actions.
- Monitor stock levels and coordinate with procurement to prevent stock-outs or overstock situations.
- Oversee the receiving and put-away process, ensuring all items are accurately logged and stored.
- Analyze inventory data to identify trends and recommend improvements to processes.
- Maintain accurate records of all inventory movements within the warehouse management system (WMS).
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and proper use of PPE when handling inventory or operating equipment.
- Train and guide other warehouse staff on inventory control best practices.
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience in inventory control or warehouse management.
- Proficiency with WMS software and inventory management techniques.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and a keen eye for detail.
- Ability to perform physical tasks as needed, including lifting up to 30 lbs.
- Understanding of logistics principles and supply chain operations.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and following all safety protocols, including proper PPE usage.
