We are seeking a detail-oriented Shipping Clerk to join our busy logistics operations in Austin, Texas. As a Shipping Clerk, you will play a vital role in ensuring that all outgoing shipments are accurately documented, packaged, and dispatched according to schedule. Your responsibilities will include preparing shipping labels, verifying shipment contents, coordinating with carriers, and maintaining shipping records. This role is critical to our supply chain, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of products to our customers nationwide. You will work closely with the warehouse team to optimize our shipping processes and maintain high standards of efficiency and quality. A strong understanding of shipping procedures and carrier requirements is essential for success in this role. We are committed to fostering a safe and productive work environment, providing all necessary training and PPE.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and affix shipping labels to outgoing packages.
- Verify that all outgoing shipments are accurate and match order documentation.
- Coordinate with various shipping carriers (e.g., FedEx, UPS, USPS) to schedule pickups and track shipments.
- Maintain accurate shipping records and generate reports as needed.
- Ensure proper packaging of all items to prevent damage during transit.
- Communicate with internal departments and external customers regarding shipment status.
- Operate shipping software and equipment efficiently.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations and guidelines, including the correct use of PPE.
- Assist with inventory management and stock rotation as needed.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of shipping and logistics processes.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Shipping Clerk or in a similar logistics role is highly preferred.
- Proficiency with shipping software and common carrier platforms.
- Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Capability of Lifting up to 30 pounds occasionally.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods and perform other physical tasks as required.
- Familiarity with warehouse operations and logistics workflows.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Commitment to workplace Safety and adherence to all protocols.
