We are actively seeking experienced Reach Truck Operators to join our busy logistics facility in Madison, Wisconsin. In this critical role, you will be responsible for the efficient and safe operation of a reach truck to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. Your primary focus will be on ensuring that inventory is stored correctly, retrieved accurately, and that all warehouse operations proceed smoothly and without incident. This position demands precision, a strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures, and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment. You will work closely with the warehouse management team to optimize storage space and maintain inventory accuracy. Adherence to all safety regulations, including the proper use of provided PPE, is non-negotiable. Responsibilities:
- Operate a reach truck safely and efficiently to move, stack, and retrieve inventory.
- Perform daily pre-operational checks on reach trucks and report any issues immediately.
- Accurately locate and pick products for orders based on pick lists or system commands.
- Position inventory in designated racking locations, ensuring stability and accessibility.
- Assist with physical inventory counts and cycle counting as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all safety guidelines.
- Ensure compliance with all warehouse safety rules, company policies, and procedures, including the proper use of PPE.
- Load and unload trucks as required, using appropriate equipment and techniques.
- Collaborate with other warehouse staff and supervisors to ensure efficient operations.
- Contribute to a culture of safety and operational excellence within the logistics team.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience operating a reach truck in a warehouse environment.
- Valid forklift operator certification or willingness to obtain one.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety practices and procedures.
- Excellent spatial awareness and hand-eye coordination.
- Ability to read and interpret pick lists and inventory systems.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Must be reliable, punctual, and possess a strong work ethic.
- Commitment to following all safety protocols and wearing required PPE.
