As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently moving materials throughout our distribution center. Your duties will include loading and unloading trucks, transporting inventory to and from storage areas, and staging goods for shipping. Maintaining a safe work environment is paramount; you must strictly adhere to all company safety protocols, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and operate machinery with the utmost care. This role requires a valid forklift certification and proven experience. You should be adept at maneuvering in tight spaces and handling various types of loads with precision. While operating machinery is key, you will also assist with other warehouse tasks as needed, contributing to the overall smooth operation of our logistics. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts and other powered industrial trucks to move, stack, and retrieve materials.
- Load and unload raw materials and finished goods from trucks and trailers.
- Transport inventory to and from designated storage areas, production lines, or shipping docks.
- Safely stage materials for outbound shipments.
- Perform daily inspections of forklifts and other equipment, reporting any issues immediately.
- Maintain accurate records of material movement and inventory.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations and the proper use of PPE.
- Assist with inventory control tasks, including cycle counts.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Collaborate with warehouse and logistics teams to meet operational goals.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid forklift operator certification.
- Minimum 2 years of experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or logistics environment.
- Proven ability to safely operate various types of forklifts.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and the importance of PPE.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
- Good spatial awareness and hand-eye coordination.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
