Join our bustling warehouse in Charlotte, North Carolina, as a Receiving Clerk! You will be the first point of contact for incoming shipments, ensuring all goods are received accurately and efficiently. Your responsibilities will include unloading trucks, verifying contents against purchase orders, inspecting for damages, and documenting discrepancies. This role is crucial for maintaining the integrity of our inventory and supporting the overall logistics operations. You will utilize scanning technology to record incoming stock and move items to designated receiving areas. A strong understanding of warehouse procedures and a commitment to safety are paramount. Proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required at all times. This position involves significant physical activity, including regular lifting and moving of various items. Accuracy and attention to detail are key to success in this role.
Responsibilities:
- Unload incoming freight from trucks and trailers.
- Verify shipment contents against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Inspect goods for damage and note any discrepancies.
- Accurately record received items using scanning equipment and inventory management systems.
- Report any shortages, overages, or damaged goods to management.
- Stage received goods for proper put-away or further processing.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving area.
- Adhere to all warehouse safety protocols and ensure the correct use of PPE.
- Collaborate with other warehouse staff to ensure smooth workflow.
- Perform general warehouse duties as assigned, including some lifting.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in a receiving or warehouse role is preferred. Familiarity with inventory management software. Ability to perform tasks requiring significant lifting, often up to 60 lbs. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Good communication abilities. Must be able to work in a fast-paced logistics environment. A strong emphasis on safety and the correct use of PPE is required. This is an excellent entry into the world of warehouse operations and supply chain.
