Our Richmond, Virginia distribution center is looking for a dedicated Shipping Clerk to manage the outbound flow of products. As a Shipping Clerk, you will be responsible for preparing orders for shipment, coordinating with carriers, and ensuring all documentation is accurate and complete. This role is critical to our logistics operations, requiring efficiency, accuracy, and a strong understanding of shipping procedures. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of working in a fast-paced environment. We emphasize a safe work environment and provide all necessary PPE. Responsibilities:
- Process and prepare outgoing shipments accurately and efficiently.
- Verify order contents against shipping documentation.
- Generate shipping labels and prepare bills of lading.
- Coordinate with freight carriers for pickup and delivery schedules.
- Inspect outgoing packages for damage and proper packaging.
- Load trucks as required, ensuring safe and organized packing.
- Maintain accurate shipping records and documentation.
- Communicate with internal departments regarding shipment status.
- Ensure compliance with all shipping regulations and company policies.
- Maintain a clean and organized shipping area, adhering to safety standards including the use of PPE.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a shipping or logistics role is a plus.
- Familiarity with shipping software and carrier portals.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to lift and move packages up to 50 lbs.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and proper use of PPE.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications.
