Job Summary:
Our dynamic logistics operation in Grand Rapids, Michigan, is looking for a detail-oriented Inventory Control Specialist to ensure the precision and efficiency of our warehouse stock. This crucial role involves meticulously managing inventory data, conducting thorough cycle counts, investigating and resolving any discrepancies, and ensuring that all inventory transactions are accurately reflected in our system. You will be instrumental in maintaining optimal inventory levels, preventing stockouts, and minimizing waste, thereby contributing significantly to our overall supply chain effectiveness. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in inventory management principles, be adept at using warehouse management software (WMS), and demonstrate excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities. A commitment to maintaining a safe, organized, and secure work environment is essential. You will collaborate closely with warehouse staff to implement and uphold best practices in inventory control. While the role is predominantly analytical, there may be occasional requirements to assist with physical inventory verification, which could involve moderate Lifting or manual handling. Ensuring that all team members understand and follow safety protocols, including the correct use of PPE, is vital for a safe operation. Responsibilities:
  • Perform regular cycle counts and full physical inventory audits.
  • Identify, investigate, and resolve inventory discrepancies promptly.
  • Monitor inventory levels and generate stock reports.
  • Develop and implement effective inventory control procedures.
  • Ensure the accuracy of inventory data for all warehouse processes.
  • Track and manage all stock movements, including receipts, issues, and transfers.
  • Analyze inventory data to identify potential improvements and efficiencies.
  • Liaise with warehouse operations teams to ensure seamless inventory management.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations, including the proper use of PPE.
  • Participate in physical inventory checks, potentially involving light Lifting.

Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in inventory control, stock management, or a related field.
  • Proficiency with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and inventory software.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Good communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Understanding of logistics and supply chain operations.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; further education in a relevant field is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of safety standards and commitment to using PPE correctly.
  • Ability to perform light to moderate Lifting for inventory tasks.
