Join our bustling distribution center in Chicago, Illinois, as a Picker/Packer! This role is the heart of our fulfillment process, directly impacting customer satisfaction through accurate and timely order preparation. You'll be responsible for accurately selecting items from inventory based on order sheets and then meticulously packing them for shipment. This fast-paced environment demands efficiency, accuracy, and a keen eye for detail. Your primary goal will be to ensure that every order is picked correctly and packed securely to prevent damage during transit. This position involves continuous movement throughout the warehouse, including navigating aisles and using equipment to retrieve items. A strong understanding of inventory management and a dedication to following packing guidelines are essential. We provide thorough training on our systems and procedures, and we emphasize a culture of safety. You will work closely with a supportive team to meet daily shipping targets. Responsibilities:
- Accurately pick products from warehouse shelves according to order slips.
- Inspect items for quality and damage before packing.
- Pack items securely and efficiently into appropriate shipping containers.
- Label packages accurately for shipment.
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation.
- Assist with inventory checks and cycle counts.
- Operate scanning equipment to track order progress.
- Follow all safety guidelines and procedures, including the correct use of PPE.
- Meet or exceed daily picking and packing productivity targets.
- Contribute to the overall efficiency of our logistics operations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a picker/packer or in a similar warehouse role is preferred.
- Ability to read and understand order instructions.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Comfortable with repetitive tasks.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform regular Lifting.
- Understanding of basic warehouse safety practices.
