We are looking for a diligent Receiving Clerk to join our logistics team in Virginia Beach, Virginia. This position plays a key role in managing the flow of goods into our facility. You will be responsible for accurately receiving, inspecting, and documenting all incoming shipments. Your attention to detail and organizational skills are vital for ensuring that our inventory is accurately accounted for from the moment it arrives. Responsibilities:
- Receive incoming freight, verify contents against purchase orders and shipping manifests.
- Inspect all incoming shipments for damage or discrepancies and report any issues immediately.
- Accurately record received goods into the warehouse management system (WMS).
- Label received items with appropriate identification and store them in designated receiving areas.
- Coordinate with shipping carriers to schedule deliveries and resolve any issues.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving area, adhering to all safety protocols.
- Assist with inventory management tasks as needed, such as put-away and cycle counts.
- Operate pallet jacks and other material handling equipment safely (training provided).
- Communicate effectively with internal departments regarding incoming goods.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a receiving or warehouse role is preferred.
- Proficiency with basic computer systems and data entry.
- Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs, standing, and walking for extended periods.
- Familiarity with logistics and inventory control procedures.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and proper use of PPE.
